I can keep dreaming...

Check out this premium monitor configuration!... Yours for only $5,999! This is the CineMassive MasterPlex 30D and I think I've fallen in love all over again!

Unfortunately, nothing has changed since I last posted about Monitors, monitors, monitors - I still have two young boys (not that this fact is unfortunate of course) and a wife with a love for shopping and this certainly wouldn't even get on the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) radar so I guess I'll have to keep on dreaming! Still I can drool at this picture for a little while longer...

  • 5 high quality large monitors
  • 1 x 30" ultra-premium primary center panel and 2560x1600 resolution
  • 4 x large 20.1" perimeter LCD screens with 1600x1200 resolution
  • Total Active Pixels: 13,696,000 (that's 13.7 Megapixel!!!)

OMG, your living my life (or I am living yours) but I have two girls (and a wife). Oh well, one day. In the meantime your coffeehouse theme looks just fine on my D820.

Okay, I don't mean to be an ass, but my current setup is exactly like those 3 monitors at the bottom. And I totally love it. In fact, that much space is *just* right - anything more, and it isn't even in your field of vision, and really then you also need a super strong display card. (In fact, I don't know if you can do > 4 monitors on a display card that won't be ridiculously expensive).

Anyway, save your $ - get the 3 monitor setup - 30" + 21" + 21", and you'd be quite pleased!

@Sahil - I agree with you that 3 monitors are optimal. At work I currently have 21" + 24" + 21" and I find it much more productive than a single or even just two monitors. The thing that would be nice with this 5 monitor setup is that I would use the top three monitors for various reference and analysis tasks/apps although the cost would probably outweigh any productivity benefit in the real world. In terms of Graphics cards then you can run PCI graphics cards for the additional monitors as long as your not expecting those monitors to handle hefty 3D?

I currently have two 19" monitors on work and i think, more monitors are only useful for specialists such as webdesigners etc. The biggest problem for "normal" users is, that they don't have a notebook or desktop computer with more then two graphic outputs.
